Character History
Character History: Scorpia on the series wiki
Canon Example: Episode Clip: "White Out" , Episode Clip: "Roll With It" ,  The series entry on the She-Ra and Princesses of Power wiki
Character Motivation: Scorpia's immediate motivation as of the canon point she'd being taken from is to rescue Entrapta from Beast Island, But this just ties into her overall motivation, which is her desire for acceptance, friendship, and love, and her own loyalty to those she already considers friends and loved ones.

Personality: Scorpia is a textbook example of why one shouldn't judge a book by its cover. At first glance she looks like she'd be a terrifying villain. But in reality? Despite being raised by the evil Horde, outside of battle she's a sweet, awkward, somewhat scatterbrained woman who likes giving hugs and just wants to fit in and have friends.

In battle, that awkwardness mostly disappears. She grew up being trained as a Horde soldier, eventually earning a leadership position, and she is very good at the actual fighting part of her job. The leadership part, well... maybe not so much. But she'll be darned if she doesn't put everything she has into her work, especially if she thinks her friends are counting on her.

As the series wore on, she became less certain of whether or not she belonged with the Horde, and with her friend Catra, who she had an awkward and obvious crush on. Through Emily- a Horde combat robot reprogrammed into a pet/assistant by Entrapta- Scorpia eventually was able to recognize the toxicity of her relationship with Catra, as well as beginning to seriously consider just how much of what she'd been told about the Horde and her own family's history was simply propaganda (ie: most of it).

These realizations combined were what finally convinced her to abandon the Horde. But even then, she still doesn't seem to harbor any ill will toward Catra or even the Horde in general. Instead, as she's leaving with Emily, she regretfully admits that there's nothing she can do to help Catra. And with eventually captured/recruited by the Rebellion, she states that while she may have left the Horde, she has no intention of betraying them.

Once Scorpia has given her loyalty to someone, it would take an awful lot to get her to even think about giving up that loyalty. Though, as one might be able to gather from watching her, she doesn't always have the best judgement when it comes to handing out that loyalty. Or... doing much of anything else really. She's excitable and more than a little naive about... pretty much everything not related to the Horde and soldiering. Including being utterly unaware of the romantic nature of her own feelings for Catra, even after she left the Horde, despite it being blatantly obvious to all those around her. Which should make getting to know the Kingdoms very interesting.

In short, Scorpia is brave, loyal, great at hugs, and is there to be the best friend she can be. And occasionally punch some things really hard.

Canon Strength/Weaknesses:

Strengths- Look, Scorpia became a Force Captain for a reason, and it wasn't her good looks. The woman is a walking tank. She has a "rock hard exoskeleton", complete with spikes, and packs enough physical strength to go toe-to-toe with She-Ra, who was specifically stated to be too strong to face head on. If she applies brute force to something in her way, that something probably won't be in her way any more. And probably won't be in one piece, either. Her pincers can also cut through most anything, though presumably some things are a lot hard to cut through than others.

She also possesses a semi-prehensile tail (can wrap around appropriately sized things and sort of hold them, but not with much dexterity) that ends in a venomous stinger. Her venom can paralyze and even full on knock people out for a limited time, though it's not lethal. And non-physical attributes, she's had extensive combat training from a very young age, and also apparently knows how to pilot a powered boat.

By the end of Season 4 (a bit past the canon point she'll be taken from), she also gains powerful lightning-based magic after she reconnects with her family's runestone. She'll likely get a variant of this as her main magic in the Kingdoms.

And did I mention she gives great hugs? Cause she totally does.

Weaknesses- How to put this politely... Scorpia isn't really the sharpest tool in the shed. While she's not exactly stupid, she's clearly operating on a lower level intellectually than the rest of the Horde brass, and she's frequently not the same page as those around her. Sometimes not even the same book. For example, at one point Entrapta was expositing about Etheria's lost 'First Ones' tech, and Scorpia could be seen scribbling on a notepad. Entrapa thought that this meant she was taking notes, but Catra pointed out that she was, in fact, drawing stick figures. Couple this with her general awkwardness and lack of knowledge about... most anything outside of the Horde and soldiering, and well, she'll likely be in for a difficult (though potentially hilarious) time getting settled in the Kingdoms.

Also, her pincers, while excellent for combat, aren't great for much else. She's been shown to have roughly the same level of dexterity as a human wearing mittens, and can handle things like pens, doorknobs, and silverware with only minor hassle, but devices with small buttons or anything else that really requires fingers easily thwarts her. And while her venom is very useful, venom in any form is- biologically speaking- expensive; even using the minimum dose, she'll still have a limited number of viable stings per day, and overuse could leave her 'running on empty' at an inopportune time.

She's also not entirely aware of her own strength, which can cause minor accidents and other problems. What's meant to be a friendly swat on the shoulder could easily send a smaller person flying, for example. And combined with her size and awkward personality, the issues this causes could potentially snowball under the right (or wrong) conditions.

Apprentice Sorcerer Application
Class: Animal. Despite looking strange to humans, Scorpia's appearance it totally natural for her species. She's also strong, brave, and loyal while also being sweet and fairly naive. She relies mostly on brute force in combat rather than anything resembling subtlety, intellect, or technology. And being powered up by cuddling is perfect for her as she is, by her own admission, a hugger, and will happily hug her friends (or sometimes total strangers) any time they ask (and sometimes when they don't).

Element: Lightning. It's basically the magic she ends up with in canon, and also fits the 'stinging' theme of a scorpion.

Sample Section

First Person Sample: [The mirror turns on... then is almost immediately dropped by the person who started the transmission. A woman's voice can be heard from the other end.]

Oops! Sorry about that! Let me just.. um... find a way to...

[There's a minute or so of fumbling as the mirror is apparently bumped around and partially blocked by something large and red before the person finally manages to pick it up and get it focused properly on her face. She gives an awkward wave with one pincer.]

Um, hi there, everyone. I'm Scorpia. And, heh, well, this is kind of awkward, but I was wondering if someone could point a gal to somewhere where I can get some clothes that are made for... well, someone with a tail? And pincers? ...And a spiky exoskeleton?

Cause I kind of need something a bit warmer to change into, but so far I haven't been able to find anything that I wouldn't destroy the moment I put it on. Which is... you know... bad. So... [awkward chuckle] yeah...
